JENNIFER KANE
Jennifer Kane is a writer, environment advisor, and former civil servant from the Washington, DC area. She has a short story in Conjunctions (Issue 85, Spring 2026), a microreview in Revolute (Volume .006, 2025), and an essay forthcoming in The Offing. She co-wrote and co-led development of the 2024 USAID Biodiversity Policy, which guided a global biodiversity conservation portfolio. She has worked as a biologist, scientific illustrator, and environment and international development professional.
Jennifer graduated from the Randolph College MFA in Creative Writing program, where she was a Blackburn Fellow and Lead Fiction Editor for Revolute (Volume .005, 2024). She received an honorable mention in the Writer’s Digest 91st annual writing competition in the category of Mainstream/Literary Short Story. She is currently working on a short story collection and a novel about field biologists in Panama.
